the Dirty Halos

The Dirty Halos are a band out of Prescott, Arizona, 90 miles north and 1 mile above Phoenix.  We currently play shows throughout the southwest. When we are asked to categorize our music, we usually say we play indie-rock with an Americana flair. 

In our live shows we play an appropriate mix of some of our most requested originals and draw the covers we play from almost every era of music from the 60’s through today. 

Our original music follows in the footsteps of our influences so you will hear hints and connections to both songs of yesteryear as well as modern day bands in our songs. 

We are so inspired by great lyrical writing and music when we find a great grove with interesting chord structures and/or rhythm and that’s matched with excellent lyrics that’s what we like to tap into.

Our current band line-up includes Kenn Duncan – vox & guitar, Chris Bennett – lead guitar & vox, Anton Teschner – bass (yes bass) & vox and Joe Wildes – drums and the band is occasionally joined by Drew Hall – guitar & vox has been playing together since 2021. 

Kenn & Drew started writing and playing together in 2017, got a band together and recorded an album of originals called “No Agenda” in 2019, that incarnation of the band Kenn, Drew with Gigi Gonaway on drums and Marcus Weeden on bass only played a few shows before the dreaded lock down started in 2020.  In fact the CD copies of our album arrived the day after the lockdown was started.

As things began to open back up, lives had changed, and we would have to re-form the band if we wanted to keep on.  Kenn and Chris (who had recently moved to America from Wolverhampton, England - don't pretend you know where it is!) met in 2021 became fast mates discovering lots of musical connections.  We started playing together, writing and working on songs.  We decided to rev up the band again with this newfound inspiration and soon after Anton and Steve Nelson rounded out the full line up back then.  Steve has since retired from drumming and Joe Wildes now takes the Throne. 

We are currently writing and working on our follow up album.  New singles "Permanent Goodbye"  and "I Don't Care (Torch Song)" featuring Janelle Loes, are now available digitally (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, Tidal, Bandcamp, YouTube and more) and the next single is soon to be released.
